A First in Canada - Saskatchewan Immigration Website hosts Online Application Process

The Saskatchewan government is taking steps to attract a greater percentage of Canadian immigrants to the province by launching a new website that provides a central, comprehensive source of information that promotes the region.

Representing a Canadian first, the website also provides potential immigrants the ability to submit online applications to the Saskatchewan Immigration Nominee Program (SINP). Through this system, these potential immigrants can apply and track the status of their immigration applications through the website. The on-line application process went live on April 12, 2010 and has been recently featured in several news articles, Regina Leader Post, Migration Expert, muchmormagazine to name a few.

Saskatchewan’s online application process was built on the iTrac Information Management System – a solution provided by the Regina-based information technology company, FCI Accelerated Solutions.

From the perspective of governmental administration, the iTrac IMS® Immigration Solution provides multiple users (case workers) the ability to easily process Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) applications, both securely and efficiently. In 2009, nearly 9,000 newcomers came to live and work in Saskatchewan in association with the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program. In 2010, government officials expect the website and its online application process to boost that number to 10,000 immigrants.
